Effective August 6, 2004 Safeline Kids is no longer the distributor of the Sit’n’Stroll. The new distributor of the Sit’n’Stroll is TriplePlay Products, LLC.

Bluffdale, Utah – Safeline Kids, Inc. is performing a voluntary informational recall of approximately 10,495 units of the Sit‘n’Stroll child restraint, model #2003, manufactured between September 1, 2002 and October 21, 2003, for the following reason. When the Sit’n’Stroll model #2003 is secured in the vehicle using the lower forward-facing belt path (previously recommended for children who weigh between 20 and 28 pounds and are less than 33 inches tall) or when the shoulder and buckle pads included with the restraint are used, forces during a crash could cause the child’s head to move forward further than allowed by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213. Shoulder and buckle pads may interfere with the ability to adequately snug the harness around the child.

No reports of incidents or injuries have been received. Owners are asked to discontinue using and discard the shoulder and buckle pads provided with the Sit’n’Stroll model #2003. Owners are also instructed to ensure that only the upper forward-facing belt path is used when the Sit’n’Stroll is secured forward-facing in the vehicle with children who weigh between 20 and 40 pounds.

A replacement label and revised instruction manual will be sent to all affected owners who returned a registration card to Safeline Kids, Inc. The revised labels and instruction manuals have a revision date of 10/03. The new label and manual will automatically be sent to the owners within the next two weeks.

Parents should continue to use this product, but must remove and discard the shoulder and buckle pads and use only the upper forward-facing belt path. UPDATE: 1/18/2002 FAA Label Color Recall

Tripleplay Products, LLC, of Hopkins, MN, is performing a voluntary label recall of approximately 3,522 units of the Sit ‘n’ Stroll child Restraint, model #2240, manufactured between April 2001 and October 2001, because the required statement “This restraint is Certified for use in Motor Vehicles and Aircraft” was printed in yellow instead of red as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

The label is located on the right side of the unit (P/N 6-0230-0) and needs to be updated in order to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

To determine whether your unit was manufactured between April 2001 and October 2001, you can check the manufacturing date in one of two places:

• Molded in plastic on the upper back area of the unit.

• The label on the side of the unit.

If your unit is within the affected manufacturing period and the statement, “This restraint is Certified for use in Motor Vehicles and Aircraft” is printed in yellow instead of red, Safeline Kids will provide a replacement label to cover the existing label at no charge. If your unit is affected by this label recall, please call now to request a replacement label to ensure you have the proper labeling for use on aircraft.

UPDATE: 10/16/2001 Missing Air Bag Labels

Safeline Kids, Inc., of Northglenn, Colorado, is voluntarily recalling approximately 902 units of the Sit ‘n’ Stroll child restraint, model # 3240, manufactured during a two month period between June 9, l997 and August 9, 1997, because they were inadvertently shipped without a required air bag warning label on the seat pad.

No reports of incidents or injuries have been received.  Not all units manufactured during this period are affected by this recall.  To determine whether your unit is recalled, first check to see if your unit has the required air bag warning label on the seat pad as shown in photo “A” titled Warning Label.

If your unit does not have the required air bag warning label, next determine whether your unit was manufactured between June 9, 1997 and August 9, 1997.  You can check the manufacturing date in one of two places:

The label on the side of the unit (see photo ”C” titled Manufacturing Date Label).

Molded in plastic on the upper back area of the unit (see photo “B” titled Manufacturing Date Code).

If the manufacturing date does not fall within the time period or your current car seat pad has an air bag warning label then your car seat is not being recalled.  If your car seat pad does not have an air bag warning label and falls within the time period, Safeline Kids will replace the pad with one that has the air bag warning label, free of charge.

UPDATE: 10/16/2001Rear-Facting Weight Recommendation Update

Safeline Kids, Inc., of Northglenn, Colorado is performing a voluntary informational recall of approximately 21,759 units of the Sit ‘n’ Stroll child restraint, model # 3240, manufactured between November 1996 and June 1999, because they were incorrectly recommended for use up to 25 pounds in the rear facing position instead of 22 pounds as allowed by federal motor vehicle safety standards.

No reports of incidents or injuries have been received. A label on the left side of the unit and information in the instruction manual indicates the product can be used up to 25 pounds in the rear facing position. However, in the rear facing position the product can be used only up to 22 pounds. Please note the product is still recommended for use in the forward facing position up to 40 pounds.

To determine whether your unit was manufactured between November 1996 and June 1999, you can check the manufacturing date in one of two places:

• The label on the side of the unit (see photo ”A” titled Manufacturing Date Code Label).

• Molded in plastic on the upper back area of the unit (see photo “B” titled Manufacturing Date Code).

If your unit was manufactured between November 1996 and June 1999 it is subject to the informational recall. Safeline Kids will send replacement labels recommending the use of the product in the rear facing position up to 22 pounds, free of charge.

Parents should continue to use this product, but should not use the unit in the rear facing position with children who weigh more than 22 pounds.
